煙草在線據(jù)《邁阿密先驅(qū)報(bào)》報(bào)道編譯　　由于美國(guó)的史偉莎國(guó)際公司將一部分雪茄生產(chǎn)從杰克遜維爾市轉(zhuǎn)移到多米尼加共和國(guó)，該公司將把杰克遜維爾市的員工裁員250人。

　　《聯(lián)盟時(shí)報(bào)》報(bào)道，史偉莎國(guó)際公司于9月20日向員工發(fā)出通知，在未來(lái)12個(gè)月內(nèi)將會(huì)進(jìn)行裁員。在這次裁員之前，史偉莎國(guó)際公司在去年已經(jīng)裁員150人。

　　史偉莎國(guó)際公司的官員說，在2009年所有煙草產(chǎn)品的消費(fèi)稅都被上提的時(shí)候，史偉莎國(guó)際公司就不得不將公司的產(chǎn)品價(jià)格提高了35%，以彌補(bǔ)提稅產(chǎn)生的費(fèi)用。

　　他說，公司的管理部門與工會(huì)將就解雇補(bǔ)償金的問題舉行討論。

　　史偉莎國(guó)際公司在多米尼加共和國(guó)已經(jīng)有一家生產(chǎn)工廠，并且7年來(lái)，一直在增加這家工廠的產(chǎn)量。裁員后，史偉莎國(guó)際公司在杰克遜維爾聘用的員工仍有500多人。

US: Cigar Company to Lay off 250 in Jacksonville

　　Swisher International will lay off 250 employees in Jacksonville as it moves some of its cigar-making production from the city to the Dominican Republic.

　　The Times-Union reports the company notified the employees on Friday that the layoffs will take place over the next 12 months. It follows 150 layoffs last year.

　　Company officials say that when excise taxes were increased on all tobacco products in 2009, Swisher had to raise its prices 35 percent to cover the hike.

　　He said that there will be discussions between management and unions over severance packages.

　　Swisher already has a production facility in the Dominican Republic and has been increasing production there for several years. The company will still employ more than 500 employees in Jacksonville after the layoffs. Enditem
